• Christopher Isherwood Author of Goodbye to Berlin and Mr. Norris Changes Trains. After a brief earlier visited, moved to Berlin in 1929. Lived mostly at Nollendorfstraße 17. Sally Bowles is allegedly based on Jean Ross.
• Werner Israel Cosmologist. Born on October 4, 1931 in Berlin, but grew up in Capetown, South Africa Residence Victoria, BC, but spent most of his working life in Edmonton, Alberta
